On Stellar today, a buyer signs a payment for every request. x402 and MPP both
settle per-request, and neither gives a buyer an account. Any seller who wants
customers to fund once and draw the balance down — APIs, data feeds, inference,
RPC — has to build billing themselves.
We already did. Fermah Pay has settled [N] charges in production for Fermah's proof
marketplace: customers deposit, usage draws the balance down, subscriptions charge
on schedule. Payers sign off-chain and we sponsor the fee, so they never hold a gas
token. Retries never double-charge.
We want to bring it to Soroban behind the standard x402 facilitator interface. A
seller points at our facilitator URL instead of the one they use now. Their customers
get accounts. Nothing else in their stack changes.
