Problem
French marinas use clonable RFID cards to distribute water and electricity to boaters, causing ~€385K in annual losses across our 11 contracted marinas. Credit purchases also depend on marina office opening hours: ~25% of high-season arrivals occur outside these hours, limiting access to utilities and representing ~€1.2M in potential annual revenue.
Solution
Micro BE, a French engineering company with 39 years of experience and 925+ utility pedestals deployed across 11 marinas, is integrating Stellar to replace this system. Water and electricity credits become tokens managed on Stellar and purchasable 24/7 via a web app. Boaters authenticate at the pedestal via QR code, with real-time on-chain tracking. Non-duplicable on-chain balances eliminate RFID cloning, marina operators gain an immutable transaction history, and the infrastructure can scale to Micro BE’s 12 other sectors.
