Description

Rail402 is an open-source (Apache-2.0) x402 facilitator for Stellar and the first Stellar-native Bazaar: the discovery layer that lets AI agents find and pay for Stellar services automatically.

It already settles real payments on testnet from classic keypairs and __check_auth contract accounts, in both the exact and upto schemes. I have a fix merged into Stellar's docs and authored the upstream x402 fix that unblocked contract accounts.

Why it is needed: the only free Stellar facilitator runs on an AGPL stack nobody can fork, and Stellar has no discovery layer. I tested nine live facilitators with a stock client. One serves discovery search, and of 15,336 entries, zero are MCP tools.

Building: a self-hostable facilitator on @x402/stellar with sponsored fees, so buyers need only USDC and no XLM; a Bazaar that catalogs a service the moment it is paid, covering HTTP endpoints and MCP tools, with natural-language ranking and published evaluation; an MCP server so agents search and pay in their runtime; and upto metered billing, contributed upstream.
