Chainless is a self-custody investment app, already live and generating revenue in Brazil. Users sign in with Google or Apple — no seed phrase, no browser extension — and get a self-custody wallet (keys are MPC-secured via Web3Auth and never held by us). From there they buy and sell crypto with bank transfer in Brazil (Pix), earn dollar-denominated savings yield, hold and move assets across chains, and spend with a card. Crucially, Chainless is chain-abstracted: there is no network selector. Assets simply appear in one unified portfolio, and the underlying chain, gas, and bridging are invisible to the user. Today that runs across our supported EVM networks (Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, and more), executed through ERC-4337 with gas fully sponsored, so users never buy a gas token.
This project adds Stellar to that system. The headline outcome is that our existing 35,000+ registered users gain access to the Stellar ecosystem's investment products from inside the product they already use, with the same chain-abstracted, gasless, self-custody experience. We start with dollar savings, built on a Chainless-managed DeFindex vault running the Blend USDC strategy, and we add the cross-chain routing that lets users fund it from any balance they already hold. Savings is the first Stellar product we list — deliberately the first, not the last.
Vision & Why this matters
Most people who want safe, dollar-denominated savings and credible onchain investment products never get there, because self-custody crypto is too hard: seed phrases, gas tokens, bridges, and a different wallet for every chain. Chainless's entire thesis is that the chain should disappear. We've proven that thesis works in one of the largest emerging markets — $80M+ in volume and real monthly revenue from people who are not crypto-natives.
The vision is to be the single self-custody app where an everyday user can reach the best onchain investment products, wherever they live onchain — without ever thinking about which chain they're on. Stellar matters to that vision specifically because it has a maturing set of yield and savings products (DeFindex, Blend) and primitives that make truly gasless, sponsored, self-custody UX achievable.
Why Stellar, why now. Stellar's institutional trajectory — real-world-asset tokenization momentum, including the DTCC announcements, and a growing of savings and yield protocols — is exactly the kind of credible, dollar-denominated product surface our users want access to. We want our users positioned on that rail as it matures.
In the short term for Chainless this means: a better dollar-savings option for our users, more reasons for them to keep balances in the app, and additional fee-generating volume on infrastructure we already operate. And because this project is the one-time work of adding Stellar as a network, every Stellar asset or product we list afterward takes a fraction of this effort — dollar savings on DeFindex is the first, and we expect Stellar to become the default venue for the new investment products we list.

Stellar as a supported network — XLM and USDC on Stellar appear in the same unified portfolio, with receive/send and full transaction history, indistinguishable from any other asset.
Stellar dollar savings (DeFindex) — a new savings option built on a Chainless-managed DeFindex vault (Blend USDC strategy), offered alongside our existing savings (Aave, on Base) rather than replacing it. Today that existing source pays 3.2% APY while the Blend USDC strategy pays 6.9% — more than double — shown side by side with APY always net of fees, which makes the migration case to users straightforward.
Cross-chain funding into Stellar — users fund the Stellar savings product from a balance on any supported EVM network in a single, chain-abstracted flow.
Our project with Stellar — what we're building
We are adding Stellar as a first-class network inside Chainless's existing self-custody and chain-abstraction stack. A non-crypto user gets a Stellar account from the login they already have, transacts gaslessly, and reaches Stellar investment products without needing to know Stellar is involved. The work breaks into four layers; the full per-tranche breakdown with budgets and reviewer-verifiable completion criteria is in the tranche deliverables, and the system diagram is in the architecture PDF.
Self-custody signer (ed25519) — Extend our MPC signer (@notuslabs/react-native-chainless-signer, Web3Auth-based) to derive a Stellar ed25519 keypair from the same login factors users already have. Stellar accounts are created with sponsored reserves and a sponsored USDC trustline, so a user holds and receives assets without ever needing XLM.
Backend & gasless submission — Add Stellar to our chain model, index balances/payments/history via Horizon and Soroban RPC, and build a fee-bump + channel-account submission pipeline — the Stellar-native equivalent of the ERC-4337 UserOperation flow we already run, so every Stellar transaction is gasless for the user.
DeFindex savings — Deploy a Chainless-managed USDC vault via the DeFindex mainnet factory (Blend strategy), integrate @defindex/sdk server-side (build deposit/withdraw XDR → sign client-side with the user's key → fee-bump → submit), and surface net-of-fees APY in our existing savings UI.
Cross-chain routing — Add a Stellar route (Allbridge Core) to our existing bridge-aggregation layer so users can move funds Stellar ⇄ EVM as easily as a same-chain transfer.
Where the effort goes. Of the $125,090 request, $36,050 is the protocol-integration work itself — the DeFindex vault and Allbridge Core deliverables, covering the SDK integrations plus the in-app product surface around them (savings UI, quoting, failure and refund handling). The remaining $89,040 is what makes those protocols reachable by 35,000+ non-crypto users: ed25519 in the MPC signer, the gasless sponsorship pipeline, chain-abstracted Stellar UX, and production-scale submission infrastructure. This is the one-time cost of adding the network — paid once, and reused by every Stellar product we list afterward.

Since launching invite-only in August 2024 it has reached 35,000+ registered users and ~10,000 monthly active users in Brazil, processed $80M+ in onchain volume, and generates ~$20,000/month in transaction-fee revenue. Stellar accounts & gasless transactions
Milestone: a Chainless user gets a self-custodial Stellar account from their existing login and can hold, receive, and send XLM & USDC — gaslessly, no seed phrase, never holding XLM — inside the unified portfolio. Verifiable on mainnet with internal and closed-beta accounts. Tranche 1 builds each layer at beta scale; Tranche 3 scales and hardens what already works.
Extend our MPC signer package (@notuslabs/react-native-chainless-signer, Web3Auth-based) to derive an ed25519 Stellar keypair from the same authentication factors users already log in with. Implement account creation via sponsored reserves and a sponsored USDC trustline, plus transaction signing and submission — so a user holds and receives assets without ever needing XLM. Dollar savings on Stellar & one-tap cross-chain funding
Milestone: the savings product works end-to-end with real funds for a closed beta — a user deposits USDC into a Chainless-managed DeFindex vault and earns net-of-fees yield, can fund that position in one tap from a balance on any supported EVM network, and the stack is hardened against its failure modes.
Stand up dollar savings on Stellar as a usable in-app product. Deploy a Chainless-managed USDC vault via the DeFindex mainnet factory (Circle USDC + Blend strategy) — roles assigned to Chainless ops (Manager, Rebalance, Emergency) and Chainless treasury (Fee Receiver), performance fee on yield only — and seed it with treasury funds. Integrate @defindex/sdk server-side: deposit/withdraw XDRs built via the API, signed client-side by the user's MPC ed25519 key, fee-bumped by our sponsor accounts, and submitted via /send. Let users move funds between Stellar and any supported EVM balance as easily as a same-chain transfer, bridging plumbing kept invisible. Add a Stellar route to our existing bridge-aggregation layer (today LiFi/Rango/XY) via Allbridge Core on Soroban: quoting, status tracking, and refund/failure handling in the same pipeline, plus the UI for multi-step cross-chain transfers — progress states while the bridge settles, clear failure and refund messaging. Production scale & general availability
Milestone: take the product proven in closed beta to all 35,000+ users on mainnet. The gasless infrastructure built in Tranche 1 is hardened from beta scale to production scale, Stellar goes generally available across the existing user base, and the live system is observable.
Tranche 1 delivered a working gasless pipeline at beta scale (50 concurrent transactions). This deliverable hardens it for the full user base: an auto-replenishing sponsor/channel-account pool with balance monitoring, sequence-number management and idempotent submit/retry under concurrency, rate limiting, and failover — so sponsored transactions keep flowing with no manual intervention under production load. Hours: Backend 270 · Project owner 16 — 286h. Completion: load test sustaining 500+ concurrent sponsored mainnet transactions with zero sequence-number collisions and automatic channel replenishment under depletion; failover demonstrated.
Feature-flagged rollout of Stellar assets (XLM, USDC — built and beta-tested in Tranche 1) to the existing user base, ramped through staged cohorts to general availability in the App Store and Play Store, with rollback controls at each stage. The engineering behind the ramp: the app handles a rollback safely for users who already hold Stellar balances, each expansion is verified against pipeline health (sponsored-transaction success rates, channel-pool headroom) before the next, and release-candidate cycles run through store review as the ramp advances. The money flows ride the same staged ramp: vault operations and bridge completion rates are verified at each stage, with on-call engineering and defect fixes as real deposits, withdrawals, and transfers scale up.
