Small businesses, vendors, and delivery riders across Africa operate in disconnected financial systems. Payments are slow, settlements are manual, and there is no single tool that handles both marketplace commerce and external payments in one place. This forces merchants to juggle multiple apps, wait days for bank settlements, and lose money to reconciliation errors.
Choppaddi solves this by building a unified commerce and payments network on Stellar with two coordinated payment rails, NGNC for internal marketplace transactions and USDC for external payments, all connected through a single wallet system.
Current Products (Live)
Stellar Wallet System A wallet infrastructure for customers, vendors, and riders on Stellar, enabling secure asset storage, real-time balances, and transfers across NGNC and USDC.
Marketplace Payment Rail (NGNC) On-chain payment system powering food, grocery, and local commerce transactions inside the Choppaddi marketplace.
Vendor Settlement System Real-time payment tracking and reconciliation that allows merchants to receive and verify payments instantly after order completion, no manual reconciliation required.
Rider Payout System Automated payout flow for delivery partners with batch settlement and full transaction history.
Live Marketplace Operations A functioning commerce network operating in Asaba and Enugu, Nigeria with real customers, vendors, and riders transacting on-chain today.
Planned Features Under This Build
Choppaddi Pay (pay.choppaddi.com) A standalone external payment layer that allows users to send USDC payments from their Choppaddi wallet to any merchant or individual outside the Choppaddi marketplace.
Multi-Chain Payment Routing (NEAR Intents) A routing layer that allows users holding assets on other chains to initiate payments that settle seamlessly as USDC on Stellar, removing the need for manual bridging or swaps.
Automated Bulk Disbursements (Stellar Disbursement Platform) Integration of SDP to introduce new bulk disbursement capability to the platform, automating batch payouts to Choppaddi's own riders in NGNC, enabling multi-branch vendors to receive USDC disbursements across multiple branch wallets in a single coordinated batch, and allowing KYC-verified users on pay.choppaddi.com to self-initiate bulk payments to multiple recipients. This brings verifiable, auditable on-chain bulk payments to African logistics workers and businesses for the first time, complementing the existing Flutterwave cashout flow rather than replacing it.
How the System Evolves
Internal Rail (NGNC): marketplace transactions and local commerce
External Rail (USDC): open payments to any merchant or individual via Choppaddi Pay
Unified Wallet Layer: one wallet connecting both rails with shared settlement logic
Outcome Users in African markets can pay inside and outside the marketplace, receive instant settlement, and transact across NGNC and USDC without switching apps or managing multiple wallets.

Tranche #0 Award Acceptance $8,000 | 10%
Tranche #1 Stellar Foundation and Choppaddi Pay MVP $16,000 | 20% | Month 2
Focus Tranche 1 establishes the Stellar integration layer that all subsequent deliverables depend on. Today, Choppaddi processes payments on Stellar using NGNC. This tranche extends that foundation to support USDC natively and delivers the first working version of Choppaddi Pay at pay.choppaddi.com, proving that a user can send a USDC payment from their Choppaddi wallet to an external recipient on Stellar.
Why this is needed: Currently Choppaddi only supports NGNC for internal marketplace payments. To enable external USDC payments via Choppaddi Pay and cross-chain routing via NEAR Intents, the wallet layer must be extended to handle USDC trustlines, USDC balances, and USDC transaction signing alongside the existing NGNC infrastructure. Without this foundation, nothing in Tranches 2 and 3 is possible. The SDP integration in Tranche 3 specifically depends on USDC trustline support being in place; SDP needs to disburse USDC to recipient wallets that have active trustlines established in this tranche.
Deliverables
Extend the existing Stellar wallet infrastructure to support USDC natively alongside NGNC. Each user wallet will have a USDC trustline established automatically on demand, for customers when they select the USDC funding option, and for vendors and riders when an order is placed or picked up in USDC. USDC balance will be displayed alongside NGNC balance, and USDC send and receive flows will be enabled using the same custodial signing model already in production for NGNC. The Choppaddi sponsor wallet covers all trustline reserve requirements and gas fees so users never need to hold or manage XLM.
Completion criteria:
USDC trustline creation implemented and validated on Stellar testnet
USDC balance visible in the Choppaddi wallet alongside NGNC balance
At least 10 wallets with active USDC trustlines verifiable on Stellar Explorer
USDC send and receive flow working end-to-end with transaction hashes on Stellar testnet

Tranche 1 Total: $16,000
Tranche #2 NEAR Intents Integration and Merchant Infrastructure: $24,000 | 30% | Month 4
Focus Tranche 2 delivers the first primary integration partner deliverable, NEAR Intents cross-chain routing. This allows customers holding assets on Solana, Base, BNB Chain to pay for anything in the Choppaddi marketplace on choppaddi.com, routing and settling as USDC on Stellar without manually bridging or swapping. Tranche 2 also builds the merchant infrastructure that allows external businesses to accept USDC payments through pay.choppaddi.com, and validates the full dual-rail system under load.
Deliverables
Integrate the NEAR Intents 1Click API into choppaddi.com. When a customer initiates a marketplace payment on choppaddi.com, the backend queries NEAR Intents for available routes, presents the customer with a quote, and upon confirmation routes the source asset through NEAR Intents which handles the cross-chain swap and delivers USDC to the destination Stellar address. This allows customers holding assets on Solana, Base, or BNB Chain to pay for anything in the Choppaddi marketplace without manually bridging or swapping. Fallback behavior is implemented when no route is available.
This is the core integration that transforms Choppaddi from a Stellar-only marketplace into a multi-chain payment network accessible to users regardless of which chain they hold assets on. The engineering work covers API integration, payment routing logic, quote presentation, deposit address handling, cross-chain state management, fallback logic, and end-to-end testnet validation. While NEAR Intents provides a 1Click API that simplifies the base integration, the work here goes significantly beyond a standard API call — it requires building cross-chain state management, payment routing logic that handles multiple source assets, reconciliation between the NEAR Intents operation and the resulting Stellar transaction, and fallback handling that keeps the user experience intact when no route is available.
Before confirming any cross-chain payment, customers will be shown a clear disclosure note explaining that their funds are protected by NEAR Intents throughout the transaction, and that in the event of a routing failure, their original funds will be automatically returned to their source wallet with no loss of funds or gas fees.
Completion criteria:
NEAR Intents 1Click API integrated into choppaddi.com marketplace payment flow
Customer can select a source asset from a supported external chain (Solana, Base, BNB Chain) and receive a quote
At least 3 successful end-to-end cross-chain marketplace payments on testnet across at least 2 different source assets, source asset deposited, routed via NEAR Intents, USDC received on Stellar, with full transaction trail provided for each
Fallback behavior confirmed: customer shown clear message when no route available and prompted to pay directly in USDC
Route availability monitoring implemented
User disclosure shown before cross-chain payment confirmation

Focus: Tranche 3 is the most operationally significant milestone in this submission. It delivers the Stellar Disbursement Platform integration, the heaviest and highest-impact integration in the entire build, and launches the complete system to Stellar mainnet.
SDP is not a simple integration. Connecting SDP to Choppaddi's existing escrow logic, settlement engine, and multi-recipient payout system requires building a disbursement batch engine, dual-asset support for NGNC and USDC, automated reconciliation, failure recovery, and production monitoring. When complete, SDP will serve three specific use cases on the Choppaddi platform:
Use Case 1: Rider payouts. Choppaddi operates its own fleet of delivery riders across Asaba and Enugu. These riders complete multiple deliveries per day and currently receive settlements through a manual bank transfer process via Flutterwave. SDP will automate the bulk disbursement layer entirely, at the end of each settlement cycle, Choppaddi creates a disbursement batch via SDP covering all active riders, and SDP submits individual NGNC payments to each rider's Stellar wallet simultaneously. This eliminates manual intervention, gives riders a verifiable on-chain payment trail, and scales automatically as Choppaddi expands to new states.
Use Case 2: Multi-branch vendor disbursements. As vendors on Choppaddi expand and open multiple branches across a city, state, or other supported African countries, they need a way to distribute revenue across their branches and staff. SDP enables these multi-branch vendors to receive bulk USDC disbursements to multiple Stellar wallets in a single coordinated batch. This is not the standard single-settlement that individual vendors receive per order, it is a separate bulk disbursement layer specifically for vendors operating at scale across multiple locations.
Use Case 3: Choppaddi Pay bulk payments. Users on pay.choppaddi.com who have completed KYC via Dojah, which is already integrated, will be able to self-initiate bulk USDC or NGNC payments to multiple recipients at once via SDP. This enables businesses and individuals using Choppaddi Pay to process payroll, vendor payments, and mass disbursements directly from their Choppaddi wallet.
Single-location vendors receiving per-order settlements continue to use the existing settlement flow and are not part of the SDP scope.
Deliverables
Integrate SDP into Choppaddi's settlement engine to serve the three use cases above. For riders, the integration connects SDP to Choppaddi's existing rider payout cycle, when a settlement window closes, the system calculates each rider's earnings, creates an SDP disbursement batch, and SDP executes NGNC payments to all rider wallets simultaneously. For multi-branch vendors, the integration provides a disbursement interface where a vendor can configure their branch wallet addresses and receive USDC bulk disbursements across all locations in a single SDP batch. For Choppaddi Pay bulk payments, KYC-verified users can initiate bulk NGNC or USDC payments to multiple recipients via SDP directly from pay.choppaddi.com .
Completion criteria:
SDP integrated into Choppaddi's rider settlement engine
Disbursement batch created automatically at end of each rider settlement cycle without manual intervention
At least 10 successful SDP rider payout cycles completed on Stellar testnet, each cycle covering at least 5 riders with individual NGNC transaction hashes verifiable on Stellar Explorer
